Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne wanted by Atletico Madrid

Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne has emerged as a summer transfer target for Atletico Madrid, according to reports.

The Partenopei are said to be demanding €100m for the Italian international although his agent Mino Raiola is hopeful of reducing this to €80m.

The news stems from Italian media outlet Il Mattino, as cited by ESPN, that the one-club player could be set for a summer move to the Italian capital.

Earlier this month, Diario AS followed up on reports in Corriere dello Sport that Atleti have been monitoring the forward with the hope of a future deal.

The 27-year-old is Napoli’s captain and has netted 76 goals across 300 appearances in the first-team squad, while he has also been capped 30 times by the Italian national team.

Inter striker Mauro Icardi and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Luka Jovic have also been linked to Atleti.
