Carvajal: Real Madrid deserve to be where they are in La Liga

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has made no excuses for their poor performance this season, after Zinedine Zidane's side drew 1-1 away at Leganes on Monday night.

Los Blancos are likely to secure their top four place in the coming weeks, however they are no longer able to win any silverware this season, which has caused frustration for players and fans.

The Spanish international was firm in his assessment of the 2018-19 campaign.

"Of course we are not used to this situation, but we deserve this based on this season.

"There are still 18 points available between now and the end of the season and finish as high as possible."

Zidane is likely to make changes to his squad over the summer, with widespread speculation that he will move on players from the squad he managed between 2016 and 2018, and Carvajal is aware that new faces are likely.

"You are always question if you do not perform in a season, and if that is the case, you may not be here next year.

"However, I don't think there will be a revolution.

We must remember that in previous years we have only tweaked the team and we are have been European champions for over 1000 days."
