Zinedine Zidane vows to sort ‘Real Madrid goals problem’

Zinedine Zidane has promised Real Madrid “will change things” this summer to sort out there “clear goalscoring problems”.

Madrid have managed just 53 goals across 30 league games this season – 26 goals fewer than champions and La Liga leaders Barcelona.

“There have been problems scoring goals this season, that is a fact,” Zidane told reporters on Friday, as cited by Marca.

“We know we need to change things, we have to accept what the data shows and understand this because if we do not then we cannot improve.

“This might sound like I am angry but I am not, I am saying things as they are and that is why I am here, I am speaking with conviction in relation to the facts.

“We have eight games remaining in the season and we owe it to everyone to finish it strongly and with a run of fixtures.

“Keylor Navas? He has a contract, and this will be evaluated at the end of the season, that is all I can say…but he is valued as both a player and a person.

“Eibar are a team who are having a great season, who will attack us and will test us so we must improve on the Valencia game – we were not bad but we must have more conviction.

“We know what we are capable of, and what Eibar are capable of too, but we must address our concerns.”
