Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola could return to Barcelona either as Coach or in another capacity, president Josep Maria Bartomeu has said.
Now 48, Guardiola won 14 trophies across four seasons in the hot-seat at the Camp Nou, winning three La Liga titles and two Champions League crowns.
“He took the decision to leave and, of course, when Barca are looking for a new Coach I am sure he will be one of the next board's candidates,” Bartomeu told an exclusive interview with ESPN FC.
“I think Pep said recently that he didn't see himself as the first team Coach again, but maybe with the academy.
“He's very clear on the club's philosophy and style of play and to be able to bring him back home would be great for the club and for the players.”
Ernesto Valverde is the current boss of Barca, with the club on course to win their second domestic double since his appointment in the summer of 2017.
