Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri is hopeful teammate and star forward Antoine Griezmann stays at the club ‘for as long as possible’.
The French forward ended a run of seven consecutive matches without finding the net for his club as Atleti closed the gap on league leaders Barcelona to eight points.
The 28-year-old has been continually linked with a move to the Catalan giants this summer with reports suggesting his release clause stands at €120m.
“I hope he stays for as long as possible,” Rodri told reporters when asked about the Frenchman, as cited by ESPN FC.
“He has scored after several games without scoring. Let him stay as long as he can.”
Earlier this week, Atleti president Enrique Cerezo claimed Griezmann was “1000 percent staying at the club” beyond the current season.
