Alvaro Morata: Spain players with Luis Enrique until death

Spain’s two-goal hero Alvaro Morata has claimed he and his international teammates are with Coach Luis Enrique “until death.”

The Coach was absent for La Roja’s two-goal victory in Malta on Tuesday due to urgent family issues, with assistant Robert Moreno taking charge of first-team affairs for the clash.

“He deserves us to be with him until death,” Morata told reporters, as cited by Marca.

“We had a lot of motivation to win today, even more so than usual, because of his situation and we wanted to give this to him.

“I have a lot to be thankful to Luis for and for offering all his support, he knows I appreciate this and that I’m grateful for it, but we all know we need to keep working.

“Malta are a difficult opponent because defending has improved a lot in recent years and it is tough to break down these deep defences.”
