Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele faces up to a month out with a hamstring injury sustained against Lyon, it has been confirmed.
A report in Diario Sport claimed the Frenchman suffered pain in the femoral biceps of his left leg after netting in Wednesday’s 5-1 Round of 16 victory.
The 21-year-old replaced Philippe Coutinho with 20 minutes remaining having not made the starting XI due to a fitness concern sustained against Rayo Vallecano four days earlier.
Dembele did not celebrate his goal due to the pain but still completed the final four minutes of the match and underwent ‘extensive tests’ on Thursday morning.
The forward is now set to miss La Liga fixtures against Real Betis, Espanyol, Villarreal and Atletico Madrid.
