Zinedine Zidane to return to Real Madrid – Spanish media

Zinedine Zidane is set to make a sensational return to Real Madrid less than ten months after leaving the club, report several Spanish media outlets.

Onda Cero, Cadena COPE and La Sexta all report that Zidane will be back at the helm of Los Blancos as early as Tuesday.

The Frenchman spent 30 months in charge of the European Champions and led them to an unprecedented three successive Champions League titles, alongside the 2017 La Liga crown.

He departed in May last year, less than a week after guiding the side to their latest European gong, citing fatigue and the need for him to take time out of the game.

Reports last week in La Sexta and Marca claimed Madrid have already made contact with the former star player and he had yet to rule out returning to the hotseat in summer.

Current incumbent Santiago Solari appears to have an increasingly uncertain future at the club while Jose Mourinho has been linked with a return to the club.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino and the out-of-work Antonio Conte are two other candidates for Los Blancos, who look set to be looking for a new boss come the summer.
