Marca: Zinedine Zidane Real Madrid’s first choice

Real Madrid’s first choice for replacing their under-fire Coach Santiago Solari is Zinedine Zidane and not Jose Mourinho, report Marca.

The Frenchman spent 30 months in charge of Los Blancos and led them to an unprecedented three successive Champions League titles, alongside the 2017 La Liga crown.

He departed in May last year, less than a week after guiding the side to their latest European gong, citing fatigue and the need for him to take time out of the game.

The report follows one on Spanish TV station which claimed Madrid have already made contact with the former star player and he has yet to rule out returning to the hotseat in summer.

Current incumbent Santiago Solari appears to have an increasingly uncertain future at the club – with reports on Friday that he has already been dismissed – while Mourinho has been linked with a return to the club.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino and the out-of-work Antonio Conte are two other candidates for Los Blancos, who look set to be looking for a new boss come the summer.
