Solari: We didn’t take our chances to win the game

Real Madrid boss Santiago Solari was left to rue his side's missed chances as they crashed out of the Copa del Rey to rivals Barcelona.

Los Merengues had the better chances in the first half of the semi final second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, but Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema both missed clear opportunities, and they were made to pay for their profligacy as two second half goals from Luis Suarez sealed a 3-0 win for the Catalan side.

"Football is about goals and taking our chances when they come", he said in his post match interview.

"We had a lot of chances to score and make the final, but we didn't take them and Barcelona did."

The two sides face each other again on Saturday evening in La Liga action in the Spanish capital, and Solari has called on his players to react.

"In football you must get back onto your feet quickly. Win or lose, we must keep perspective ahead of the weekend."
