‘Relentless’ Sergio Ramos set for 600th Real Madrid game

Real Madrid Coach Santiago Solari has hailed the ‘character’ of Sergio Ramos ahead of his 600th appearance for the club.

The central defender joined Madrid from Sevilla in the summer of 2005 and is now set to pass another landmark during Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Ajax.

“His standout qualities are various but he is a big character who is tremendously competitive,” Solari told a pre-match press conference, as cited by Marca.

“He has played in so many games because of his attitude, he is a leader and stamps his character on the team, he is relentless.”

Ramos has won 20 trophies during his spell with Madrid – including four La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns – and netted 84 goals.
