Fernando Morientes: Vinicius can be world class

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has all the qualities to become world class, according to former Los Blancos striker Fernando Morientes.

The Brazilian has been in sensational form since the turn of the year, topping the assists chart for Santiago Solari's side so far this season, and making the left wing slot his own in recent weeks.

And Morientes believes that the 18 year-old is on his own to the top.

"If he continues to play the way he has been, then he will become a world class player, no doubt about it.

"He is still young and we have to be careful not to burden him with too much responsibility, particularly at a club like Real Madrid."

Vinicius is yet to make his senior debut with the Brazilian national side, but Morientes already sees similarities between the former Flamengo man and another Brazilian that wore the white shirt of Real Madrid.

"Vinicius reminds me of Savio. In both his playing style and position out on the left.

"They have similar traits, daring, pacy and ability in one-on-one situations, They also adapted quickly to different footballing style to that of Brazil."
