Chelsea could replace Eden Hazard with Philippe Coutinho

Chelsea are resigned to losing star Eden Hazard to Real Madrid this summer and could replace him with Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho, say The Daily Telegraph.

Christian Pulisic is moving to Stamford Bridge from Borussia Dortmund this summer while the club are also keen for Callum Hudson-Odoi to remain despite interest from Bayern Munich.

However, the Blues are keen for a ‘number 10’ to replace the Belgian, who has told RMC Sport that he has ‘already made a decision’ on his future amid continued links to the European champions.

Coutinho joined Barca from Liverpool in a €160m deal only a year ago but has fallen out of favour at the Camp Nou this season, regularly missing out on starting line-ups.

The Blaugrana have repeatedly denied that they will sell the Brazilian star but should the Blues spend a large proportion of any potential Hazard sale on the player then the situation may change.

Coutinho previously played in England across five seasons for Liverpool.
