Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is not concerned that his side have slipped further behind Barcelona in the title race in La Liga.
Simeone’s side fell to a 1-0 defeat at Real Betis on Sunday as they failed to take advantage of Barca’s 2-2 draw with Valencia, widening the gap at the top of the table to six points.
“I don’t see this weekend as a negative,” Simeone told reporters, as cited by Marca.
“You need to look at this as a good thing that Barcelona also dropped points and the lead did not grow by more.
“The officiating decisions? I do not want to talk about it, those are decisions beyond my control and you can see them clearly on the replays.
“Alvaro Morata debut? I do not want to talk about individuals, although it was tough for the two forwards because there were not many opportunities.
“We are disappointed we could not find solutions to the problems we were being posed and we could not create enough chances.
“We hope Morata incorporates quickly with his teammates and starts scoring soon.”
