Vinicius leads Real Madrid AND Copa del Rey assists chart

Vinicius Junior has been in excellent form for Real Madrid in recent weeks, and the Brazilian is now their top assist maker of the season so far, with seven in all competitions.

With 19 appearances this season, he is currently averaging one assist every 144 minutes played.

He has only netted once in his nine appearances since the turn of the year, but his pace and ability to link play, has significantly benefited strike partner Karim Benzema, with three assists for the Frenchman this month.

The return to fitness of Gareth Bale had appeared to indicate a return to the bench for Vinicius, however manager Santiago Solari now looks set to play Vinicius alongside Benzema and the Welsh international.

His form deserves a continued role in the first team, and he has two more assists to his name in 2018-19 than Bale, Benzema, Alvaro Odriozola and Luka Modric, who all have five.

Of his seven assists of the season, five of them have come in the Copa del Rey, making him the competition's leading assist
