Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos rested for Alaves clash

Midfielder Toni Kroos has been omitted from the Real Madrid matchday squad to face Alaves at the Santiago Bernabeu tonight.

Manager Santiago Solari gave no injury update on the German international in his Saturday press conference, and he reported reason is that he is being rested having recently returned from injury.

Real face Barcelona, Atletico and Ajax in a crucial next ten days, and Solari will want the former Bayern Munich player to be fresh for the tests that lie ahead in domestic and European action.

Federico Valverde and Brahim Diaz are also left out, alongside injured duo Luca Zidane and Jesus Vallejo and the suspended Raphael Varane and Dani Carvajal.
