Alvaro Morata is on the verge of completing his loan move to Atletico Madrid according to media reports in Spain.
The Spanish international will undergo at medical with the club on Sunday afternoon, as the final details of his loan deal from Chelsea are completed.
Morata will sign with Diego Simeone's side on a temporary deal until the end of the season, with an option to buy, or to return to Stamford Bridge, in the summer.
With Gonzalo Higuain signing with the Premier League side in midweek, Morata's departure became a certainty.
Despite Simeone's confidence of Morata being a success at the club, supporters voiced their unhappiness at the move in their weekend win over Getafe – chanting in favour of Borja Garces, instead of the incoming Morata.
If a deal is completed in time, he is expected to make his debut against Real Betis, on February 3rd.
