Real Madrid’s Keylor Navas faces injury layoff

Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas faces an injury layoff after sustaining a groin injury, the club have confirmed.

The Costa Rican was not involved in the matchday squad for Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Sevilla although fortunately for Los Blancos, Thibaut Courtois was ready to return to action following a hip injury.

“Following the tests carried out on our player Keylor Navas by the Real Madrid medical department, he has been diagnosed with an injury to his right adductor longus muscle,” read a Madrid club statement.

Navas joins Toni Kroos, Mariano Diaz, Marcos Llorente, Gareth Bale, Marco Asensio and Jesus Vallejo on the sidelines for an injury-hit Madrid.
