Real Madrid ‘will not sack Santiago Solari this season’

Santiago Solari will remain as Coach of Real Madrid until the end of the season unless there is a ‘bloodbath’, report Cadena Cope.

Spanish journalist Paco Gonzalez has confirmed that the Argentine will remain at the helm of Madrid for the remainder of the campaign, barring a significant downturn in results.

There had been speculation following Sunday’s defeat against Real Sociedad that the European champions would turn their attention towards a new Coach.

Solari was only appointed as permanent Madrid boss in November following the sacking of Julen Lopetegui and guided them to last month’s Club World Cup title.

The former midfielder has won 11 of his 15 matches at the helm but has overseen humiliating 3-0 defeats to both Eibar and CSKA Moscow, along with last week’s defeat against Real Sociedad.

Solari has yet to face any side currently in the top half of La Liga and will take his team to Real Betis this weekend.

The report also confirms that Madrid have no more plans for January additions following a deal for Brahim Diaz.
