Barcelona ‘agree pre-contract’ with Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot

Barcelona have reached a pre-contract agreement with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot for a summer transfer, according to reports.

ESPN FC say a deal has been struck between the French midfielder and the club, although there is little indication a deal will come to fruition in January.

The report claims the player’s mother and agent Veronique has spent January in the Catalan capital agreeing terms, with an annual wage packet of €10m and a €10m signing on fee reportedly agreed.

The 23-year-old is out of contract at the French champions in June and has been linked with several top European clubs, including the Blaugrana.

Diario Sport report there is an ‘imminent’ meeting in the Catalan capital with the player while El Mundo Deportivo say negotiations are ongoing between the player and the club.

Last month, there were reports that the central midfielder had already agreed terms with the Catalan giants were reported Le Parisien at first and verified by El Mundo Deportivo.

The Frenchman’s contractual situation has led to reports he could leave the French capital in a cut-price deal this January, or for free next summer.

PSG are said to be keen to offload the player at the nearest possible date as they have no plans to reinstate him into their first-team as he has no intention of renewing his deal on their terms.

Barca were strongly linked to Rabiot this summer but instead signed Arthur Melo and Arturo Vidal to replace the outgoing Andres Iniesta and Paulinho.
