Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente set for three weeks out

Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente is set to miss three weeks of action with a muscular injury sustained in training.

In recent weeks the 23-year-old stepped in for the absent Casemiro and his performances were so impressive they halted his agreed loan move to Basque side Alaves for January.

The midfielder sustained an injury to his adductor muscle in training on New Year’s Eve with both Marca and Diario AS claiming he will miss up to three weeks of action.

Llorente has started seven successive games for the club but had not featured in the starting line-up once before Santiago Solari’s appointment as permanent Coach last month.

He now looks set to miss La Liga clashes against Villarreal, Real Sociedad, Real Betis and Sevilla alongside the Copa del Rey double header against Leganes.
