Paris Saint-Germain confirm Adrien Rabiot ultimatum

Paris Saint-Germain chief Antero Henrique has stated Adrien Rabiot will not play for the club unless he pens a new contract.

The 23-year-old is out of contract at the French champions in June and has been linked with several top European clubs, including Barcelona.

The Frenchman’s contractual situation has led to reports he could leave the French capital in a cut-price deal this January, or for free next summer.

“At this point, no,” Henrique told Yahoo Sport, when asked if discussions over a new deal for Rabiot would continue.

“The club decided this after a meeting that I had with the player.

“The player informed me that he will not be signing a new contract and that he wants to leave the club as a free agent at the end of the season [also the end of his contract].

“For the player, the consequences are clear — he is indefinitely benched.”

The Catalan giants were strongly linked to Rabiot this summer but instead signed Arthur Melo and Arturo Vidal to replace the outgoing Andres Iniesta and Paulinho.
