Keylor Navas set for new Real Madrid deal

Keylor Navas is set to be offered a new and improved contract by Real Madrid despite playing second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois, report ABC.

The Costa Rican’s current deal at the European champions runs through until 2020 but the latest proposal would extend the contract by a further 12 months.

The shot-stopper turns 32 in December and has featured in just two La Liga games this season following the arrival of Courtois from Chelsea.

The new proposal would see Navas increase his annual salary from €4m to €5m and would signal the goalkeeper’s content with the current situation.

Madrid still have young goalkeepers Luca Zidane and Andriy Lunin on their books.
