Keita Balde: ‘Barcelona game special for me’

Inter forward Keita Baldé has explained Tuesday’s match against Barcelona will be ‘very special’ for him as he progressed through La Masia youth system.

The Senegalese forward was born in Catalonia and played youth football for the Catalan giants before moving to Italy six years ago.

“Tomorrow's match will be very special,” Keita told his pre-match press conference.

“I was in the Barcelona youth team, which gave me so much, but now I want to win here. I was there for seven years, and I also grew on a personal level.

“There’s a philosophy there that teaches you a lot, and I learned things that I’ll always carry with me.

“I don’t think it’s just me who knows their philosophy, but I can do my part. Tomorrow we need to be aware of our strength, we’ve studied the opponent and we’ll be ready.

“We are a complete team in every position, we have great players, even on the bench.

“We have one of the best defences in Europe, we’re scoring a lot of goals and we’re very strong.”
