Barcelona monitoring Adrien Rabiot

Barcelona are continuing to monitor the contractual situation of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, say reports in Spain.

El Mundo Deportivo report the Catalan giants are one of a number of clubs interested in the 23-year-old, who is out of contract in Paris next June.

Previous reports in Diario Sport stated the French champions have tried to renew the central midfielder’s contract on four separate occasions, with the latest being rejected last month.

PSG are said to have increased their offer to an annual wage from €7m plus bonuses up to a sum of €9m plus bonuses.

Barca are said to lead the chase for Rabiot’s signature, and he would only consider renewing at PSG for a base rate of €10m annually, which could compromise their UEFA Financial Fair Play position.

The Catalan giants were strongly linked to Rabiot this summer but instead signed Arthur Melo and Arturo Vidal to replace the outgoing Andres Iniesta and Paulinho.

Liverpool, Manchester City, Juventus and Milan are other clubs linked to the Frenchman.
