‘Vinicius Junior has a big future at Real Madrid’ – Santiago Solari

Real Madrid interim Coach hailed the performance of Vinicius Junior in the side’s 4-0 win at Melilla: “He has a big future ahead of him.”

The Brazilian teenager starred in Wednesday’s Copa del Rey victory and whilst he did not score, drew most of the plaudits following the game.

“Vinicius has a big future ahead of him, but he is very young,” Solari told reporters, as cited by Marca.

“You have to remember he is only 18 and has just arrived into a new club, a new country, a new playing style, a new way of living.

“He will continue to develop and mature into a very good player, I’m sure of it and everyone must show patience with him.

“But I’m happy with all my players, including Asensio, Ceballos, Odriozola and Lucas – everyone put in a good shift.

“You could see the commitment was there across the team and the club, we are united in this together and we will try to fix our situation.

“This was always going to be a difficult game because the coaching and play at Segunda B level has increased a lot, and Melilla are used to winning games.

“These games are never easy but the attitude from us was right.”
