Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez has hailed new interim boss Santiago Solari as a ‘great Coach’ who players ‘will give our all for’.
The Argentine guided Madrid to a 4-0 Copa del Rey victory at Melilla on Wednesday night in his first match in charge, with the club having a two-week period to make a permanent appointment.
“He is a great Coach, that is all we can say as players, but we do not make the decisions,” Nacho told BeIN Sports, as cited by Diario AS.
“We can only work on the basis that he is here for the rest of the campaign, but he has won titles for Madrid and has been at the club for a long time.
“We had the same feelings for Julen Lopetegui but there was no luck and things did not go as we hoped, so now we will give our all for the new Coach too.
“It was important to get back to winning ways after El Clasico, because it is never easy to lose in any circumstances never mind those that we did.
“We are lucky to have had a game so soon after and be able to score goals, because our path back starts now.”
