Quique Setien believes his Real Betis side are ‘superior to all our rivals’ but ‘understood’ the whistles from home fans after defeat to Real Valladolid.
Los Verdiblancos have managed just five goals in nine La Liga outings this season and have now fallen to back-to-back defeats.
“We are superior to all our rivals, but that situation alone is not enough to win,” Setien told reporters, as cited by Marca.
“We know it is very difficult to find solutions against ten men inside the area and you need a good pass, an accurate shot, but it is not easy to find such inspiration.
“We can try to change our own approach and ideas but we cannot change that of the sides whom we are playing, they are likely to sit deep and we have to generate the solutions.
“The whistles from the fan were normal because we shared the same frustrations and we did not play well, we knew this game would be difficult.
“We go to Milan now with the aim of playing a great game against a strong side, we are not scared but we will embrace the challenge.”
