Agent: Zinedine Zidane not going to Manchester United

Zinedine Zidane’s agent claims the ex-Real Madrid boss is not destined for Manchester United as ‘he’s decided to take a year out and they don’t appeal’.

Zidane had been heavily linked with replacing Jose Mourinho at United, but Alain Migliaccio – who has represented the 46-year-old for the majority of his career in football – suggested his client was not keen on the Red Devils.

“He was tired on a nervous level,” he told Journal du Dimanche.

“He’s decided to take a year out and he won’t go back on that. I don’t think he’s going to England, it’s not his style.

“I’ve talked to him and the truth is that it doesn’t appeal to him.”

Guy Lacombe, who unearthed his countryman at Cannes in the 1990s, added: “He’s on holiday mode.”

The newspaper goes on to explain how Zidane is keen on recharging his batteries, having been so committed to the cause at Madrid that his work ‘started at six in the morning and finished at 11 in the evening, seven days a week’.

Making over 200 appearances for Los Blancos, as well winning a Champions League and Liga title, he went on to lift three consecutive European Cups as the club&lsquo’s Coach.
