Diego Simeone admitted the possibility of Atletico Madrid playing in the Champions League final in their own stadium ‘would be beautiful’.
The showpiece of this season’s final is in Atleti’s Wanda Metropolitano and the Argentine admitted the possibility was ‘motivating’ his side.
“The greatest thing in life is to dream and that is what we want to do,” Simeone told reporters, as cited by Diario AS.
“However, we appreciate we live in reality and we know it is an incredibly difficult task, we have to manage that excitement and channel it correctly.
“Of course, we hope to play in the final in our stadium, for me, for the players, the coaches and particularly the fans, it would be beautiful and it motivates us.
“VAR? It will not be in used against Bruges, so I am not going to discuss it, it is not relevant here.
“We have been improving in recent weeks, we have made big strides since the Eibar game, particularly in an offensive aspect.
“We know Bruges are a difficult opponent, they were strong against Dortmund but we have started the group well and we hope to continue.”
