Zinedine Zidane told Real Madrid to fix ‘unbearable’ Cristiano Ronaldo situation

Former Real Madrid Coach Zinedine Zidane instructed the club to ‘solve’ Cristiano Ronaldo’s tax problem as it was becoming ‘unbearable’, say reports.

El Mundo published a detailed timeline of the Portuguese star’s exit from the European champions, clarifying how his tax situation in Spain was crucial in his push for an exit.

Unlike other players in the league, Madrid would not back their player in his court case and refused to cover any financial costs for the forward.

“Fix this issue of Cristiano's in whatever way possible,” Zidane is reported to have told club officials.

“He does not speak of anything else in the dressing room, it is unbearable.”

The report also details how the player became increasingly isolated during his final season at the club, as he was already motivated to leave that summer.

It cites how Ronaldo ‘regretted’ not leaving sooner and how his decision to join Juventus was based on the Champions League quarter-final between the two.
