Barcelona have confirmed a new long-term contract for midfielder Sergio Busquets with an enhanced release clause of €500m.
The 30-year-old made his debut for the Blaugrana in 2008 under Pep Guardiola and this new deal could confirm that he spends the entirety of his career at the club.
The new release clause of Pique is similar to other first-team stars such as Lionel Messi (€700m) and Gerard Pique (€500m).
Busquets has won seven La Liga titles and three Champions League crowns with the Catalan giants, for whom he has made over 490 first-team appearances.
Sergio’s father Carles spent nine years at the Camp Nou and was a teammate of Guardiola’s.
