Marcelo believes Cristiano Ronaldo will not be remembered by Real Madrid fans more fondly than any other club legend.
When asked, after Saturday’s draw at Athletic Club Bilbao, if the fans of the club missed the Portuguese forward, the defender responded they would miss a lot of former players.
“The fans will not only remember Cristiano, but also Raúl, Zidane and many more,” Marcelo told reporters, as reported by Marca.
“We have to forget this game and think about our next one, to ensure we get back on track with a run of victories as soon as possible.
“It would have been just had we won this game as we had more chances and better opportunities, but the goal did not come.”
Ronaldo netted his first goals for new club Juventus, whom he joined in a €100m deal this summer, in Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Sassuolo.
