Real Betis president Angel Haro believes his club are a ‘growing giant’ and insists they are starting to realise their potential.
Los Verdiblancos defeated city rivals Sevilla 1-0 on Sunday night after Joaquin Sanchez’s late header.
“Betis are a growing giant right now,” Haro told Radio Marca Sevilla.
“The future that awaits us appears to be optimistic and we are happy with how things are going, the aim is to continue to grow as a club.
“It is fantastic to enter the international break having beaten our eternal rivals, it is always a victory that makes Betis fans very happy.
“The difference between the two clubs is not as big as before, because not so long ago Sevilla had triple the budget of Betis so it was hard to compete.
“Now we want to achieve what Sevilla have achieved on the pitch in recent seasons along with the biggest clubs in Spain, that is our ambition.”
