Chelsea are only willing to negotiate the sale of wing-back Marcos Alonso for €60m or more, according to a report in Diario AS.
Atletico Madrid are reportedly keen on landing the 27-year-old, with the possible departure of Filipe Luis to Paris Saint-Germain, while the report also notes interest from Real Madrid, whose Theo Hernandez joined Real Sociedad on loan this month.
Alonso came through Real Madrid’s La Fabrica youth system but did not make the grade in the first-team and has since represented several clubs, joining Chelsea from Fiorentina in 2016.
It would be a tall order to negotiate any deal before the 31 August deadline for Spanish clubs, although it is possible they will put the framework in for a future move.
The player’s versatility and attacking threat, alongside his defensive work, are qualities which ensure he is admired by both clubs.
Alonso is viewed as a set-piece specialist and offers a goal threat, as shown by his winner for Chelsea in the weekend victory over Arsenal.
