Former Real Madrid Coach Zinedine Zidane is eyeing a possible return to management in the form of Manchester United, say L’Equipe.
The Frenchman guided Madrid to an unprecedented three successive Champions League victories, before departing within a week of the most recent triumph.
Jose Mourinho is currently in place at Old Trafford but his contract expires in June 2020 and there are suggestions he could exit in advance of that date, due to a usual ‘chaotic third season’.
The report says the English Premier League is a ‘natural destination’ for Zidane with the Red Devils ‘the perfect fit’ following a spell in charge of Madrid.
There has previously been talk of the former midfielder becoming the France national boss but that appears remote following Didier Deschamps guiding the nation to the 2018 World Cup title.
