Leganes close in on En-Nesyri

Malaga striker Youssef En-Nesyri is close to becoming a Leganes player as the Madrid club ready an offer for the Moroccan international.

The 21-year-old, who was included in his country’s World Cup squad in Russia and scored against Spain in the group stages, has a buy-out clause of €10m in his contract.

According to Radio Marca Malaga, although Leganes are unwilling to pay that amount for a player who has scored just five goals in 38 league appearances, it is believed that a bid of around €6m will eventually force the Andalusian club’s hand.

New Malaga boss Juan Ramon Muniz will be reluctant to lose the only first-team striker he has at his disposal right now, yet the final decision will rest with club owner Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani.

If the transfer is eventually given the green light En-Nesyri will link up again with Diego Rolan, his attacking partner at La Rosaleda last term, while Michael Santos is also another Malaga player who has moved to Butarque.
