Gerard Pique has responded to Barcelona’s claims of ‘unease’ over his role in Antoine Griezmann’s future by stating the club ‘have my telephone number’.
Barca vice-president Jordi Mestre was referencing Griezmann’s television documentary La Decision, aired last week, which was produced by Pique’s company, stating it ‘caused surprise and unease’ at the club.
“If the club want to speak to me, they have my telephone number,” Pique is cited as saying by Cadena Cope.
The French forward announced he would be staying at Atleti despite the Blaugrana’s attempts to sign the player, while Samuel Umtiti also tweeted he would eat popcorn watching the show.
Mestre said on Tuesday: “We will speak internally to Gerard and Samuel Umtiti when they return from the World Cup.”
