Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke is hopeful Antoine Griezmann will not join Barcelona but insists a departure would not hinder the club.
The French forward has been strongly linked with a move to the Blaugrana this summer but with no updates on his future, it appears this will now not be sorted until after the World Cup.
“He has a contract with us and we all hope he remains,” Koke told Radio Marca.
“This is up to Antoine of course, but he is playing at an elite level and that is the level this clubs wants to be at.
“He is a complete player and if he stays then that will be massive for us but if he does not, life, and the club, will continue to improve.
“Playing for Spain? It is easy to switch styles from Atleti. At club level, the playing style is much more direct and this is more patience in possession, but it is the same for me, Diego (Costa) and others.”
