OFFICIAL: Barca’s Deulofeu joins Watford

Watford have completed the permanent signing of winger Gerard Deulofeu from Barcelona on a five-year contract, it has been confirmed.

The clubs have confirmed an agreement of €13m (£11.5m) for the 24-year-old, formerly of Everton and Sevilla, with a further €3m in performance-related add-ons.

Deulofeu spent the second half of last season on loan at Watford, making seven Premier League appearances and scoring one goal – against Chelsea.

The Barca youth product spent the 2013-14 campaign on loan at Everton and returned on a permanent basis in 2015 after an unsuccessful season-long loan at Sevilla.

Following 18 months with the Toffees, Deulofeu finished the 2016-17 season on loan with AC Milan, then went back to Barcelona last summer when the Catalans activated a buy-back clause.

However, he scored just twice in 17 appearances for the Catalans and was farmed out to Watford, managed by former Malaga boss Javi Gracia, in January.
