Simone Zaza has reiterated his desire to stay at Valencia and insists the club have not informed him otherwise, despite media speculation.
The Italian striker has been linked with a summer exit from the Mestalla with the club aiming to raise €45m in sales to help replenish their squad this summer.
“I do not understand why I have to leave,” Zaza – who netted Italy’s goal in a 1-1 draw with the Netherlands – told Onda Cero on Monday night.
“You (journalists) are always speaking about my exit from Valencia, but I have always said that I want to stay. I get along with everyone and I live very happily here.
“I have not talked to the club about my future, they have not been in contact with me.”
The 26-year-old has been linked with a return to Serie A, with Milan said to be among the clubs interested in his signature.
