City, Juve join Cancelo race

Valencia are hopeful of a bidding war for in-demand defender Joao Cancelo, who looks set to leave the club permanently this summer.

The Portugal international spent a season on loan at Inter, but the option of the Milanese giants to sign the 24-year-old permanently for €35m expired at the end of May.

A report in Marca now outlines how the Nerazzurri still maintain an interest in the player but they have been joined by Juventus and Manchester City.

The English champions are prepared to pay €44m for the wing-back, who made 26 Serie A appearances for Inter last season.

Valencia would prefer to keep Cancelo but their own financial situation means they must sell before they can replenish their squad, despite qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
