Casillas urges Madrid: Keep Ronaldo!

Former Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas has urged his former side not to allow Cristiano Ronaldo to leave, even if it means signing Neymar.

Currently at FC Porto, the 36-year-old goalkeeper insisted the Portuguese forward was ‘the symbol’ of Madrid and they should do everything within their power to keep him.

“He (Ronaldo) has always stayed despite everything that has been said and that has been reported,” Casillas told an interview with Diario AS.

“He is the modern-day Alfredo Di Stefano at Madrid, he is a symbol of the club and he is on that level.

“Cristiano is highly competitive, and I would not swap him for any other player, not even Neymar. Cristiano is Real Madrid.”
