Tigres: We want Sevilla’s Pizarro

The president of Mexican club Tigres has admitted they have ‘been in contact’ with Sevilla midfielder Guido Pizarro for the last six months.

The Argentine joined Los Rojiblancos in an €8m deal from Tigres last summer, making 40 appearances and netting two goals – including a last-minute equaliser against Liverpool.

“We have been in contact with Pizarro for six months,” Miguel Angel Garza is cited as saying by Estadio Deportivo.

“It would be ideal for us to re-sign players who have been here before to boost the club and the squad, for players to come here who know the club.”

The 28-year-old may be sold if the club can recoup their transfer fee, according to the report, while Boca Juniors have also declared an interest in the midfielder.
