Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal could be fit to participate in Spain’s World Cup campaign after reportedly avoiding a hamstring tear.
It quickly emerged that the defender picked up a hamstring problem, prompting rumours Sergi Roberto or Hector Bellerin could replace him on the plane to Russia.
However, renowned journalists Fernando Burgos and Alexis Martin-Tamayo – the latter better known on Twitter as MisterChip – claims tests have shown only a ‘grade-II injury’, which should take ‘2-3 weeks’ to recover, and not a tear.
The 26-year-old also suffered an injury during the 2016 Champions League Final, which ultimately ruled him out of Euro 2016.
