Outgoing Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta has called on the club to quash reports Sergio Busquets could also leave the club.
The 34-year-old was responding to reports from Diario Sport that his midfield partner wanted an improved deal at the Camp Nou.
“He means so much to the club as a player and how he has progressed,” Iniesta told Rac1.
“It would be a massive mistake for the club to allow Busquets to leave but I do not believe it will happen due to his importance to the team and at the top level of the spot.
“I do not know what his personal situation is but the club should move to rule out any uncertainty about his future.
“My own move? Everything is sorted, there are just a few details before my announcement next week – it will be Japan or China.”
