Former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly agreed to pay an €800,000 fine to settle his tax debt with the Spanish treasury.

The crimes stem from the Portuguese’s tenure at Madrid, but he will now avoid a 12-month prison sentence, allowing him to remain in charge of Manchester United.

The 55-year-old is the latest in a long line of Blancos employees past and present to come under fire for their tax affairs after the likes for Marcelo, Fabio Coentrao and Cristiano Ronaldo.
