Betis to host Spain-England

Interim RFEF chief Juan Larrea has confirmed that Real Betis will host Spain’s Nations League fixture against England in October.

Betis’ home of Benito Villamarin has not been a venue for Spain since 1995, when they beat Armenia 1-0 in a Euro 1996 qualifier.

Marca reports the match will be played on October 14, although UEFA’s tournament calendar has it scheduled for a day later.

La Roja have won eight of their nine games at the Villamarin and have not lost to England on home soil in 31 years.
