‘Referee didn’t change the result’ – Busquets

Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has played down the influence of referee Hernandez Hernandez on the result of El Clasico.

The official made a number of highly-controversial decisions, including not dishing out red cards, fouls and penalties to the consternation of both sides.

“The decision did not influence the end result,” Busquets told reporters after the match, as cited by Marca.

“I have not seen the replays but we know the game and a draw was the right outcome from it.

“We are happy with the performance, we did not let our competitive level drop despite already winning the title.

“It was especially pleasing after we had one man less and it is important for us to remain unbeaten, the only pity is we could not score more goals.

“Records are all well and good but you do not think about that during games, only winning.”
