Valencia Coach Marcelino has described Geoffrey Kondogbia as ‘an essential pillar’ for Valencia but refused to clarify his long-term future at the club.
The French midfielder is on a season-long loan deal at the Mestalla from Inter while it is thought Los Che will activate their €25m option to sign him permanently at the end of the season.
“The club discusses sporting issues with me, never contractual ones,” Marcelino said in his Press conference today.
“Of course no-one at Valencia doubts that Kondogbia is an essential pillar in having a team with greater potential next year.”
Formerly of Sevilla and Monaco, Kondogbia has scored four goals and provided four assists in 29 La Liga outings this term.
